When I discovered the Path of Enlightenment from my Grade 8 Home Room English teacher in 1970, I became a seriously arrogant spiritual seeker and looked down my nose at school subjects like “History” because it focused on the Past!  Gasp!  Oh Horrors for All Evolved Ones who KNOW that where IT is at is in the Moment!  History lessons = the  “Past” and I knew that focusing on the Past was NOT going to lead me to Enlightenment!!  I was very clear and very sure.  Hence, I would show up for class for a few years in order to get a passing grade, but did not listen.

Later, my first husband was my best meditation student and so eventually we got married.  But then one day, he (a might fine Jewish man by the way) started talking about the Japanese in the Second World War and I asked “The Japanese were in the Second World War?”  As you can imagine, I have never lived that down, no matter how peaceful or positive I might get.  Mixing levels on the Path is not cool.  But more about that later.

Fast forward, learning and understanding the Wisdom of ancient spiritual teachings actually called upon my best senses to pay attention to the historical development of these teachings within cultural contexts.  Being humbled is ALWAYS a good thing.  My Door is always open for that one.

After years and years of being a focused Yogini, I was introduced to dear Dr. Angeles (Angie) Arrien.  And later, dear Dr. Wade Davis.  Check out both of them via Google and YouTube.  History via Anthropology rocks!
